| Yellow | This
is the basic chocobo available at the start. It can travel over snow and
grass only. It can't travel over mountains, brown patches, water etc.
It's just a quicker method of travel early on in the game. Basically it's not very good, my friend. |
| Green | This
is second up from the yellow chocobo and can travel in the shallow
waters (like the little bronco), but that's about it.
To get this you must have a good and a great yellow chocobo (S Rank works best) and mate them with a Carob Nut. |
| Blue | Blue
chocobo's can travel over shallow water, rivers and brown areas.
To get this you must have a good and a great yellow chocobo (S Rank works best) and mate them with a Carob Nut. |
| Black | Black
chocobo's can go anywhere the blue and green can, except it can travel
over mountains (but not deep water).
To get this you must have a Green and a Blue chocobo (S Rank works best) and mate them with a Carob Nut. |
| Golden | The
ultimate chocobo can travel absolutely anywhere on the world map; up
mountains, over rivers. You name it. Pass over the ocean and get Knights
of the Round in the far north-east corner.
To get this beauty you must mate the black with a wonderful chocobo (S Rank works best) with a Zeo Nut |
